PMO MOC implements additional Entry Protocol to all ports under its jurisdiction amid COVID-19 threat

The Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro has started to implement additional entry protocol for all port users, clients, or guests entering the premises of the Port of Cagayan de Oro, and Terminal Ports in Balingoan and Camiguin, as one of the heightened measures to prevent the entry and spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in ports.

PMO MO/C placed additional measures to protect employees, port users against COVID-19

To help contain and prevent further spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and protect the health of all PMO employees as they continue to deliver public services amid the current virus threat, the PMO MO/C has hence implemented alternative work arrangements, and provided free face masks and service shuttle to ferry personnel to and from work.

PCG, PPA Port Police, PNP-MariG commenced Thermal Screening of Vessel Crew

Port Police together with the personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and PNP Maritime Group have been conducting body temperature screening among vessel crew of vessels calling at the Ports of Cagayan de Oro and Opol since 21 March 2020. This thermal screening is part of the precautionary measures of the Ports against the current Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Despite the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine in the entire Luzon, and Community Quarantine in most places in the country due to COVID-19, PPA ports are kept open for cargo vessels for unhampered cargo movements and uninterrupted flow of goods across the country.

PMO MO/C calls for an emergency meeting with maritime agencies

In view of Proclamation No. 929 by the Philippine Government placing the country under a State of Calamity amid Coronavirus Disease (COVID1-19) pandemic, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro called for an emergency meeting with maritime agencies related to health protocols and measures for domestic vessels entering/calling at the Port of Cagayan de Oro and/or at any ports within Macajalar Bay.
