Passenger Terminal Services

Aside from cargoes, the Port of Cagayan de Oro also serves as a major hub for seafaring passengers going to major destinations in Visayas and Luzon islands. It is part of the Central Nautical Highway under the Roll-On Roll-Off Transport System linking Mindanao to Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Jagna and Tagbilaran cities in Visayas, and Manila and Batangas in Luzon.

The Port of Cagayan de Oro’s 18,150.50 sq.m.-Passenger Terminal Complex houses the 2-Storey Passenger Terminal Building; soon-to-be developed queuing area for taxis/PUVs, designated area for ticketing outlets, and covered walkways.

The Passenger Terminal Building (PTB), the biggest passenger terminal among PPA ports nationwide so far, can accommodate approximately 3,000 passengers and is fully equipped with facilities and GAD amenities for the safety, security, comfort, and convenience of the passengers. Facilities include Security Checkpoint 2 with X-Ray scanner for luggage/baggage, body scanner, CCTVs; Security Office; Office for PTC Personnel; Passenger Boarding Stations; Collector’s Booth; Public Assistance Desk; Offices for passenger-related agencies such as Immigration, Tourist Police and Coast Guard.  The PTB also has Play Area for children; Child Care Station for breastfeeding and diaper changing; Ecumenical Prayer Rooms; separate toilet facilities for PWDs, Female and Male; clinic; and Concessionaires Area for food stalls, coffee shops and pasalubong centers, among others.

While operationalization of the 2-storey Passenger Terminal Building is yet to be undertaken, two (2) Temporary Facilities served as separate Pre-Departure Areas which are fully-airconditioned and has the following amenities: check-in area equipped with x-ray scanning machines and walk-thru metal detectors, child care station, diaper changing area, restrooms and charging stations. The entire Passenger Terminal Complex is a free wifi zone.
