First mass of the new year at PMO MO/C

Thankful for the productive year 2019 and looking forward to a more prosperous 2020 for the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro, a mass was offered on the first Friday of the year, 03 January 2020 at the PMO GAD Hall, Administrative Building 2, Barangay Puntod, Cagayan de Oro City.

The mass was presided by Msgr. Eutiquiano M. Legitimas, PC, SSJV, the Director of ACDO Migrants Ministry/ Stella Maris – Apostleship for the Sea Center. Sisters of the Stella Maris also attended the mass.

A Eucharistic mass is being conducted at the PMO every Friday since 2016. It is one of the activities of the PMO to foster spiritual growth among the employees, in addition to the provision of programs and activities for their health wellness and psycho-social development.

DAP awards PMO MO/C for “Best Practice”

The Development Academy of the Philippines conferred the Government Best Practice Recognition (GBPR) plaque and certificate to the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro on 17 December 2019 for the latter’s win in the 2018 search with its entry titled, “Fostering a Green Culture for Port Operations and Management”.

Stranded passengers spend Christmas Eve at CDO Port; PMO MO/C prepares Noche Buena

Due to the inclement weather brought about by Typhoon “Ursula” (Phanfone) that affects many areas in Luzon and Visayas, around two hundred eighty (280) passengers who are supposed to travel to Cebu and Bohol, had spent the Christmas Eve at the Port of Cagayan de Oro. So they would not miss the once-in-a-year holiday celebration, the Port Management Office of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro (PMO MO/C) has organized an instant “Fellowship on Christmas Eve” activity for them.

DOT-10 partners with CDO Port for Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Seminar

Dubbed as the Global Gateway to Mindanao and in view of the soon opening of its new and modern Passenger Terminal Building (PTB), the Port of Cagayan de Oro has partnered with the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 10 for a seminar on customer service titled as, “Filipino Brand of Service Excellence,” which was conducted to security personnel, personnel from marine, terminal, and engineering services, janitorial complement, and all front liners stationed at the Passenger Terminal Complex on 23 December 2019.

Christmas Spirit: PMO MO/C share treats to CDO Port’s neighboring community

Enabling them to still enjoy and celebrate the Christmas season, more than forty (40) families who were victims of the fire incident on August 2019 in the CDO Port’s neighboring community, received various goods from the Port Management of Misamis Oriental/Cagayan de Oro in partnership with the local chapter of the Pambansang Tinig at Lakas sa Pantalan, PPA employees’ union; Sunrise Multi-Purpose Cooperative; and, Rotary Club, a non-government organization, on 21 December 2019.
